- Perceptions et usages d’un chatbot comme tuteur de cours en...
This article examines the use and perception of a chatbot by first-year students in higher education in Belgium. With the massification of education, pedagogical adaptations become necessary in modern universities. The chatbots, as digital tools, offer an opportunity to diversify access to educational content, facing the challenge of providing quality education for all. The study addresses two research questions: What is the perception of students (N = 89) about using chatbot as a course tutor? ; What is its role according to the typology of Bernatchez (2003)? The results, in agreement with other studies, indicate a positive evaluation in terms of effectiveness, usability, acceptability and user experience, although lower scores are observed in motivation and behaviour. The analysis shows a student preference for pedagogical-cognitive support by the chatbot rather than technical. These results are in line with other research, highlighting the effective use of chatbotss in education, with few irrelevant interactions. In conclusion, the study highlights the effectiveness and acceptability of chatbotss as mentors and offers perspectives for their integration as a personalized learning path.
